Read accounts of brothers and friends of Edmund as they
gather for their immersion in the culture and faiths of
India. The immersion sites are Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.
Kolkata
Even before the
immersion, Kolkata has seen a rush of visitors
anxious to sample the hospitality, colours, sounds
and sites of this marvellous city and the Brothers'
communities there. The first to arrive were Martin
O'Flaherty, Paul Hendrick and Eddy Coupe from Europe.
Unfortunately their bags were delayed but.
once they had
arrived the brothers took the train to Asansol to
see the work of the brothers there. The picture

schools run by the Brothers in Asansol

is a hive of activity as the gathering of Chapter
participants coincides with a meeting of School Heads
from across the Brothers school network in India.
Br. Cyril and several other local brothers have been busy ferrying people to and from the airport day and night. Three members of the CLT left on Monday morning to put the local preparations for the Chapter in motion.
Among the arrivals in Delhi are Dan Casey and Chuck Gattone from North America, Peter Dowling from Oceania, Juan Casey, Alberto Llanos, Paul Keohane and Gonzalo Irigoygen from Latin America and Jim Donovan, Kevin Mullan and Declan Power from Europe. Members of the Edmund Rice network are also on their way.
